Laura Giraldo, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC

Laura is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). Throughout her career she has worked in variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric facilities, substance use treatment centers, and foster care group homes. Laura has specialized experience in several areas including substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, life-stressors, employment issues, coping with life changes, and working with individuals who have experienced trauma.  


Laura’s therapeutic style involves building rapport and getting to know the individuals she is working with to facilitate a counseling approach that is tailored to meet individual needs. Laura likes to create a warm and interactive environment where her clients will feel comfortable to discuss the reasons for seeking counseling. Laura utilizes a person-centered approach to assist individuals in gaining self-confidence and a stronger sense of identity. Laura offers acceptance and support, and empathetic understanding throughout counseling sessions. As a therapist, Laura will place focus on helping individuals discover their strengths to help in persevering through life challenges and difficult times. Laura’s therapeutic style involves using a solution-focused approach to generate ideas for solutions to problems or challenges. Laura strives to provide her clients with the tools needed to make positive life changes.

Laura is an Adjunct Professor in the Human Services Department at Palm Beach State College. She enjoys educating the new generation of helping professionals. Laura is passionate about helping others struggling with mental health disorders, helping individuals that are going through difficult times or life-challenges, offering support and providing tools necessary to make positive changes, and providing psychoeducation to those in need.
